The signal Ye Wenjie transmitted in 1971 traveled approximately four light-years through space before reaching the Trisolaran system. The Trisolaran civilization was profoundly shaken upon receiving it. A pacifist within the Trisolaran world — an individual who opposed invading Earth — risked their life to send a warning message back to Earth using the Trisolaran transmission facilities: "Do not answer! Do not answer! Do not answer!" This message clearly informed Earth: your signal has been received, but please do not send any further replies, or we will be able to precisely locate your planet and may come to invade.
In 1979, Ye Wenjie received this reply at the Red Coast Base. She fully understood its meaning and warning. Yet after careful deliberation, she made a shocking decision — she transmitted another reply to the Trisolaran world, not only confirming Earth's existence but explicitly welcoming the Trisolaran civilization's arrival. Her reply stated: "Come here. I will help you obtain this world." This act marked the formal establishment of contact between Earth and the Trisolaran civilization and laid the groundwork for the future Trisolaran fleet invasion of Earth.
