The Singer's reaction was chilling: this was merely another exposed coordinate requiring "cleanup." In his understanding, civilizations in the universe were like weeds in a field, and exposed coordinates meant a death sentence. The Singer did not even conduct a detailed investigation of the civilizations in the solar system — it was entirely not worth his effort. He retrieved a "two-dimensional foil" from his toolkit and casually tossed it in the direction of the solar system.
The two-dimensional foil is a form of dimensional strike weapon capable of irreversibly compressing three-dimensional space into a two-dimensional plane. Once triggered, the foil expands at the speed of light, flattening all three-dimensional matter in its path — stars, planets, ships, living beings — into an infinitely thin two-dimensional surface.
