Event Description
After Dark Forest deterrence collapsed, the Trisolaran civilization believed it had won and began imposing control over humanity. However, in deep space beyond the solar system, two human warships — Gravity and Blue Space — made a decision that changed the fate of both civilizations. These vessels were survivors of the Doomsday Battle and were equipped with gravitational wave broadcast devices. When they learned that deterrence on Earth had failed, the humans aboard made an independent judgment: if the Trisolaran civilization was no longer deterred, the only way to prevent the Trisolarans from completely subjugating humanity was to activate the broadcast, exposing both civilizations to the hunters of the dark forest.
The gravitational wave broadcast was transmitted, carrying the precise coordinates of both the Trisolaran system and the solar system. Hunters in the cosmos responded swiftly — a "photoid" traveling at near-lightspeed struck the Trisolaran system's star, destroying it. The Trisolaran homeworld and its entire civilizational infrastructure were annihilated in an instant. The Trisolaran fleet — still en route to the solar system — became a homeless wandering fleet. Simultaneously, the solar system's coordinates were also exposed, and humanity faced the same threat of destruction, uncertain only of when the strike would arrive.
